Matthew Gilliam

Chief Executive Officer

Matthew Gilliam is an award winning film maker that has shot, directed, edited and/or produced dozens of film/video projects in Northern California since the turn of the century.  He received a Bachelor of Arts from the prestigious Cinema department at San Francisco State University in 2005.
In 2011 Matthew entered the home video market with the release of "Tai Chi for All" an instructional DVD aimed at seniors that teaches Tai Chi in both sitting and standing positions.
In 2015 he created the magazine style tv show SacTown Underground  which highlights events, artists and organizations that are under the radar of most media entities. The Show is still airing on Access Sacramento's cable and streaming channels.
Matthew was hired as Project Manager at Screentakes digital publishing in 2016  where he managed an international team in the creation of the multi media "screenbook" Kramer vs Kramer: A screenplay analysis by Jennine Lanouette.
He lead a team of volunteers as a membership sales supervisor for the 2017 Mill Valley Film Festival during the North Bay fires.
In 2018 Matthew was appointed to the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission largely for his expertise in the film arts.  He actively advocated for Sacramento film makers and creatives as a commissioner until the commission was disbanded in December 2019.
Also in 2019 Matthew established Gilliam Media Production with the motto "Creating Independently Together" in hopes of attracting talented film makers to join him in providing excellent videography services and to help raise the bar of narrative film production in the Sacramento area.
